2027 Federal Scholarship Tax Credit
Turn Your Tax Dollars Into Scholarship Opportunities
Beginning January 1, 2027, eligible individual taxpayers may receive a federal income tax credit of up to $1,700 for qualifying cash contributions to eligible Scholarship Granting Organizations.
Kentucky has elected to participate in the Federal Scholarship Tax Credit program, creating a new opportunity for taxpayers to support educational scholarships for students in our communities.
How the Tax Credit Works
1. Pledge Your Support
Let SEKY Scholarship Fund know that you are interested in supporting scholarships through the new Federal Scholarship Tax Credit beginning in 2027.
2. Watch for Final Qualification
Kentucky has elected to participate in the program. Qualifying contributions can be made to Scholarship Granting Organizations included on Kentucky's list provided to the IRS for 2027.
3. Make a Qualifying Contribution
Beginning January 1, 2027, eligible individual taxpayers may receive a nonrefundable federal tax credit of up to $1,700 for qualifying cash contributions to an eligible Scholarship Granting Organization.
Taxpayers should consult their tax professional regarding their individual eligibility and tax circumstances.
